Dance Festival 2019

Our three Clive teams really were absolutely amazing at today's festival. They all showed pride, enthusiasm and brought a whole heap of energy to the stage. All of your morning tea and lunchtime practices really paid off!

Zirka Circus visit

On Thursday afternoon the Clive Kids were entertained for 20minutes with some interesting acrobats.
They were very talented and had obviously been practicing for years!

Digital circus

Clive school are working alongside the experts from Digital Circus.
Today we had challenges to move through while working with a buddy.
We had to programme an Edison Bot and estimate cms and rotations.

Inspirational Maths Tasks and Collaboration!

For the first two weeks of Term 2, we have been working collaboratively on Inspirational Maths tasks from 'YouCubed'.
This week have been watching videos from Jo Boaler and she explains that no one is born with a 'Maths Brain' as we all have different experiences which lead to how we can feel about Maths.
Instead of thinking "this is difficult, I give up", look at the problem with a positive mindset, because it has been proven that if you find a task difficult and make mistakes, then your brain actually learns from these mistakes. NBHS Cultural Performance

Today we had some students from Napier Boys High School share their talents with us. There were solo instrument players, a rock band, string instruments, a barber quartet and more.
The Clive kids were treated with a fantastic show and I'm sure many felt inspired.

EOTC 2019

Year 6 Tuesday EOTC

Today the Year 6 Clive Kids got to see a kiwi at Lake Opouahi and see the stunning waterfall at Shine Falls.
They all persevered throughout the day and on the journey up to Shine Falls. We had great weather and we couldn't have done it without the support from our parents.
So a huge 'THANK YOU' to the parents who gave up their time and were able to help out today.

Duathlon

Today we held a Duathlon, which was a "Challenge by Choice" activity. It was fabulous to see so many children choosing the longer course and really challenging themselves.
